Summary of this Semester

We have done many projects this year. One of these projects is using Google Calendar. Every day, the events on the Google Calendar are sent to both my phone in a text message and as an email. Also, I have been able to subscribe to my Google Calendar using iCal.

Another project is using Google Earth. We have made placemarks, which mark a particular location on the map. We have also figured out how to save all of the placemarks to a file, and put the file on another computer.

The most recent project that we are working on is the final project of the year. I will talk more about this in a later post.

These are some of the Web 2.0 tools that we have used this year: Blog, Wiki, Google Calendar, Google Docs, RSS, Del.icio.us, Flickr, Social Networking, and Podcasts.

Some of my favorite tools are Google Calendar, RSS, Social Networking, Podcasts (takes you into iTunes), and Del.icio.us. I have enjoyed using Google Calendar because it is a great way to keep me organized in school. RSS is a great way to keep up with the latest news on the web. Using the Apple Mail program, I have subscribed to many feeds and am able to check these every day in an easy way. Social Networking is a great way to communicate with friends. A good example of this is Facebook. You can chat with other people, send messages to them, have your own profile and be able to view others, and post comments on pictures or on other profiles. Podcasts are free video’s about many things including how to do something on a computer. Delicious is an online bookmarking program. It a great way to store your favorites or bookmarks online, and view other people’s bookmarks.
